Hydraulic balancing for underfloor heating

Hydraulic balancing of the underfloor heating system ensures that all the rooms in the building are evenly supplied with heat. In blocks of flats in particular, hydraulic balancing is a financial and ecological necessity – and one that is also required by the relevant DIN standards and regulations.

More even and faster heating, noticeable energy savings, no flow noise at the manifold, and greater comfort thanks to optimum heat dissipation are the best arguments for hydraulic balancing to be carried out professionally.

Components for hydraulic balancing

x-net A/E valve for underfloor heating manifold

The Kermi x-net A/E valve, designed for connection to the x-net manifold, helps you perform hydraulic balancing with speed and precision in different applications.

Application:

The x-net A/E valve for underfloor heating manifolds is used as a line regulator valve for precise and quick hydraulic balancing of heating systems by manually setting the maximum flow rate for each x-net manifold. The adjustment range is 4–36 l/min.

Highly recommended for the following application

  • Hydraulic balancing of manifolds with each other in a line
  • Reduction of flow noises from the manifold

for building projects

  • New-build blocks of flats
  • Refurbishments of blocks of flats

x-net AB-PM heat flowmeter installation sets, horizontal and vertical

The x-net AB-PM heat flowmeter installation set for installation directly upstream of the manifold enables quick, uncomplicated installation for volume flow limitation, independently of the differential pressure.

Application

The x-net AB-PM heat flowmeter installation sets (horizontal and vertical), each available in the nominal widths DN 20 and DN 25, are designed for use in heating applications in residential buildings. The integrated automatic combination valve is a differential pressure regulator with flow limitation, providing the three functions of differential pressure control, flow limitation, and control valve with liNear characteristic in one valve housing. The fitting pieces with an installation length of 110 mm (DN 20 variant) and 110 mm or 130 mm (DN 25 variant) make it easy to install heat flowmeters.

Highly recommended for the following application

  • Hydraulic balancing of manifolds with each other in a line
  • Installing a commercially available heat flowmeter
  • Reduction of flow noises from the manifold

for building projects

  • New-build blocks of flats
  • Refurbishments of blocks of flats

x-net manifold D

The x-net manifold D is a new, specially designed x-net heating circuit manifold. An automatic flow controller is already integrated as standard for each heating circuit in the return line.

Application

The x-net manifold D with the automatic flow regulators integrated in the return line for each heating circuit keeps the set flow rates constant, regardless of pressure fluctuations in the pipe system. The range of adjustment per heating circuit is 30–300 l/h.

Highly recommended for the following application

  • Hydraulic balancing of heating circuits with each other at the underfloor heating manifold

for building projects

  • Refurbishments of blocks of flats
  • Detached/semi-detached house refurbishment

x-net overflow device

The x-net overflow device is installed as a bypass section at the end of the manifold to reduce flow noise and ensure a minimum flow rate.

Application

Preventing/reducing annoying flow noises from the x-net underfloor heating manifolds if the circulation pump is overloaded by closed actuators, and ensuring a minimum flow rate through the manifold.

Highly recommended for the following application

  • Reduction of flow noises from the manifold

for building projects

  • Refurbishments of blocks of flats
  • Detached/semi-detached house refurbishment
