Sustainability at KERMI
Responsibility along the entire value chain
For us, sustainability is not an individual project, but a fundamental part of our corporate strategy. It is firmly anchored in our decision-making processes and is taken into account along the entire value chain - from upstream supply chains to the use of our products by end customers.
We are guided by key areas of action such as climate protection, social responsibility towards employees and customers and responsible corporate governance.
Climate protection & energy transition
Our products and our production make an active contribution to the energy transition.
We develop solutions for energy-efficient heating and cooling and are constantly working to further improve the energy efficiency of our products. At the same time, we focus on durability and recyclability in order to conserve resources.
As part of our climate targets, we are pursuing, among other things
- the gradual electrification of our vehicle fleet
- replacing fossil-fuelled heating systems with more sustainable alternatives such as heat pumps or a bioenergy plant
- our electricity consumption is to be covered entirely by sustainable sources by 2030
Sustainable business location
Sustainability begins in your own company.
We make targeted investments in measures to increase energy efficiency and reduce our consumption of resources. These include, among other things
- the expansion of solar energy on our company premises
- an increasing proportion of self-generated energy
- the continuous optimisation of our buildings
- the use of sustainable packaging materials
- a modern and efficient infrastructure
Sustainable mobility & logistics
Efficiency and climate protection also play a central role in our mobility and logistics.
Our measures include
- the use of a modern and increasingly electrified vehicle fleet
- the reduction of empty runs
- optimised route planning to reduce emissions
Responsibility in the supply chain
For us, sustainability does not end at the factory gate.
We focus on long-term, partnership-based relationships with our suppliers and pay attention to transparent and reliable business processes. This includes
- sourcing materials from Europe wherever possible
- Stable and fair supplier relationships
- reliable payment practices to strengthen our partners
- the reduction of dependencies in the supply chain
Employees & corporate culture
Sustainability also means responsibility towards the people in the company.
As a traditional company, we attach great importance to a strong corporate culture and a safe, fair working environment. Our priorities are
- the promotion of a good work-life balance
- Dealing responsibly with the shortage of skilled labour
- transparent and fair remuneration
- clear anti-discrimination guidelines
- the continuous improvement of occupational health and safety
- active co-determination by the works council
Responsibility towards customers and end users
Our products stand for quality, safety & security and transparency.
We ensure that our solutions meet the highest standards and offer our customers sustainable added value:
- high product safety
- Transparent information for end users
- durable and energy-efficient products
Actively managing future risks
Sustainability also includes the conscious handling of risks.
We continuously analyse the potential impact of climate change on our sites and processes and develop suitable adaptation measures. These include, among other things
- dealing with climate risks such as flooding and extreme weather
- the further development of our infrastructure
- taking new issues such as noise emissions into account in our management
