Company founded as a craft business by the partners KERschland SchMIdtfor the manufacture of heating oil tanks.
1967
Start of production of steel panel radiators.
1972
Expansion of the plant with the first fully automatic production line for steel panel radiators.
1973
The takeover by the Salzgitter Group.
1976
Construction of the shower cubicle business area.
1987
Introduction of the NT 2000 V compact radiator with integrated valve fitting.
1989
The first steel panel radiators specially adapted for use in bathrooms are launched on the market.
Merger of Salzgitter AG and PREUSSAG AG. Kermi GmbH is now part of the PREUSSAG Group.
1990
KERMI sets an example with the new Infocentre. As an exemplary forum for presentation, training and interaction.
1992
A completely new steel panel radiators factory with fully automated production lines and painting centre goes into operation.
1994
Start of production for bathroom and designer heating units.
1996
Foundation of KERMI s.r.o. with manufacture / manufacturing in Stribro in the Czech Republic.
1997
Convectors and heating panels are added to the range.
2001
KERMI expands its heating technology expertise with the x-net underfloor heating system.
Gaining an international market presence and expanding the product range required a comprehensive expansion in development, production, logistics and administration over the last decade.
Since 1 July 2001, KERMI has been part of AFG Arbonia-Forster Holding AG, based in Arbon/Switzerland.
2004
Extensive expansion of KERMI s.r.o. Stribro in the areas of production and logistics.
2005
Introduction of the therm-x2 with innovative, energy-saving x2 technology in multi-layer valve radiators with centre connection.
2007
Introduction of the innovative x2 technology in all multi-layer valve radiators.
2008
50 million times quality and innovation from Lower Bavaria. In 2008, the 50 millionth steel panel radiators rolled off the production line at KERMI in Plattling at a steady pace on the welding line.
2010
50 years of KERMI - 50 years of innovation, design and quality. Originally founded as a craft business, KERMI is now one of the leading suppliers of heating technology and shower solutions in Europe.
2013
A milestone is set with the presentation of the KERMI x-optimised heating system. KERMI enters the segments of heat generation, heat storage and heat control and thus offers everything from a single source, including heat transfer.
2014
Opening of the new KERMI:Campus seminar centre at the company headquarters in Plattling.
Expansion work in the logistics area was completed in 2014.
2015
The x-well residental ventilation system brings a pleasant indoor climate into all rooms - the ideal extension to the KERMI x-optimised heating system.
2018
Completion of extensive investments in manufacture / manufacturing and logistics for shower design and indoor climate.
Like the product range, the KERMI factory site in Plattling has also grown over the years.
2019
In the KERMI system x-optimised, the individual heating technology components fit together perfectly. The suffix "+e" stands for the addition of intelligent electrical solutions. We focus on the use of renewable energies and the intelligent combination of water-based and electrical system components.
2020

2022
Opening of the new plant for the production of heat pumps in Opocno, Czech Republic.
2024
The therm-x2 Vmulti universal radiator takes installation flexibility to a new level with a total of six connection possibilities.
Demerger of Kermi GmbH and Kermi Duschdesign GmbH. Since October 2024, there have been two independent companies with the name Kermi at the Plattling site.
2025
Kermi GmbH becomes part of MBT Climate, the European unit of the Midea Group. Midea's headquarters are located in Foshan, China.
