After a construction time of approximately one and a half years, the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre has been enhanced by an important exhibition hall: Hall 3c designed by Zaha Hadid Architects is impressive with its architecture and is the new focal point at the south side of the exhibition site.
The 70 million Euro project also takes on the important role as a “buffer hall” and is to compensate for area lost due to impending constructional measures, keeping the overall exhibition space at around 170,000 m².
2,300 tons of steel were used building the exhibition hall. The hall has a glass facade which is more than 3,000 square metres in size. Its roof spans more than 10,200 square metres, providing exhibition space of approx. 9,600 square metres.
To be able to guarantee the desired thermal comfort in these impressive glazed areas, Kermi convectors with radiation shields have been used among other things as optical design elements. These act as a protective shield for the large surface area of exterior glazing and emit pleasant, even, radiant heat into the room.
