Arena Žalgirio in Kaunas, Lithuania

The Arena Žalgirio in Kaunas, the second largest city in Lithuania, is a sporting and event facility of national importance.

The foundation stone for this building was laid in 2008. In 2011 shortly before the start of the European Basketball Championship, the arena was officially opened and all the games in the final round were played there. With its 40,000 m2 of floor space, the stadium can hold up to 21,000 people. As it is the home arena of the most successful basketball team in the country, "Žalgiris Kaunas", basketball matches regularly take place there. The stadium is also a popular location for concerts, trade fairs and other sporting events. Its location is a special feature: the whole area with the stadium, offices, restaurants and the adjacent sports field are on an island in the river Nemunas in the heart of Kaunas.

With around three hundred plan radiators with valves and convectors including radiation shields, Kermi ensures a pleasant climate for all those attending events there. 

Munich Airport Satellite Terminal

On April 26, 2017, the satellite terminal at Munich Airport celebrated its first birthday. Over the course of one year, around 74000 flights and more than nine million passengers were handled through the terminal expansion.

The building which represents a joint project between Lufthansa and Munich Airport provides a total floor area of approx. 133700 m². An underground personal transport system - a kind of driverless mini subway - connects the satellite to Terminal 2. This allows passengers to reach the food court and shopping area in almost one minute. There are sixteen shops, seven restaurants and three duty-free areas for air passengers to use, which shortens their waiting time.

Kermi GmbH is represented in the new building with a total of 850 radiators consisting of valve convectors, Profil valve and Verteo-Plan radiators.

Research Centre Neumayer 3 Antarctic

The Alfred-Wegener Institute, a Helmholtz centre for polar and marine research is currently having a new Antarctic station built in Bremerhaven, the Neumayer-Station III. This station will be shipped by sea to the Antarctic and is to continue with German polar research for the next 25 - 30 years.

The development patented by the Alfred-Wegener Institute makes it possible to conduct research and live in the same building. Firstly this reduces the journey to work and secondly, the scientific measurements can largely be carried out independently of the weather. The construction even has a garage deck. However, the absolute highlight is a hydraulic lifting device. With this unique construction, the complex can't sink into the eternal ice, as its predecessor station could. It also prevents the station leaving components in the snow. Even the operational life is decisively increased with this impressive construction.

With numerous convertors, Plan valve, Profile valve and Mediano bathroom radiators, Kermi ensures pleasant temperatures in an icy environment.
