x-net controls

Heating comfort at the press of a button.

Clever control for panel heating and cooling. This means the desired heating comfort can be set individually for every room. Clever control also means: Save cleverly. x-net control is available in two product lines, to precisely suit the particular requirements.

x-net connect

Two problems – one solution.

Kermi does away with uncontrolled heat dissipation – with the x-net connect systems, heat is specifically guided past the screed in the area of the underfloor heating manifold to render an efficient and controlled heating operation possible. That way, major heat losses in this area can be prevented.

x-link® plus

Underfloor heating and panel heating by Kermi Invisible heating and cooling

Invisible heat source in the winter, pleasant cooling in the summer without a draught. The x-net panel and underfloor heating systems provide precisely that. High performance and durable, x-net ensures pleasant thermal comfort when used as underfloor heating or wall heating. The versatile means of installation are suitable for a wet system in the screed as well as dry on the screed. The knob, clip, klett or tacker systems offered can thus be used to perfection both at home and in commercial and industrial applications. In the living area, for instance, wall and underfloor heating provide a number of benefits in contrast to classic radiators.

x-net panel heating/cooling benefits:

  • Comfort: thanks to pleasant radiant heat
  • Energy efficiency: thanks to low flow temperature
  • Environmentally friendly: ideal in combination with alternative energy sources
  • Creative freedom: the perfect heating for new-builds, modernising old buildings or when renovating
  • Health: hygienic comfort without dust dispersion
  • Quality of life throughout the year: thanks to the heating and cooling function in one system

How does underfloor heating actually work? And why can it also cool?

The way that underfloor heating or wall heating works is as simple as it is ingenious: Instead of installing radiators in the room, pipes are laid in the floor or wall, which have hot or cold water eventually flowing through them. The hot water transfers its energy through the heating pipe to the floor and heats up the room as evenly as a radiator. What is more, you can even go barefoot in the winter if this is what you would like to do. Cold water takes warmth out the floor and thereby cools the room evenly – a real pleasure in the summer. The cooling function is not only considerably more pleasant than a conventional air conditioning system; since it does not create any draughts, it also saves on expensive electrical energy.

Selecting the right underfloor heating system depends, for example, on what floor you eventually want to lay and/or whether you are working on a new-build or renovating. For the most part, you differentiate two basic systems: systems for wet laying in the screed, like the x-net C11 knob system or the x-net C12 tacker system, and systems for dry laying, like the x-net C13 dry system. The expert Kermi specialist partner in your vicinity will be happy to assist you in selecting the right system.

By the way: The Romans already used underfloor heating – the basic principle used then was quite similar to the way that modern underfloor heating systems work.

Wall and underfloor heating: Can it also be installed retrospectively? The plus in renovation

Yes, it can. And it is easier than you think. Kermi offers special underfloor heating systems for renovation, which make the replacement of radiators with underfloor heating significantly easier. With the x-net C16 clip system, the x-net C15 thin layer system, and the x-net C13 dry system, retrospective installation is quick and effortless. If the conditions at the construction site do not permit underfloor heating to be installed, the x-net C21 and x-net C22 wall heating systems are the means of choice for the renovation. With regards to comfort and function, wall heating and underfloor heating are identical, except that their heating pipes are installed in the walls which are more easily accessible. This makes wall heating ideal for use in renovation.

Benefits for renovation:

  • renovation and refurbishment while occupied
  • can be laid without chiselling and demolition work
  • extremely low installation heights
  • compatible with various floor coverings
